A Place for 360 Austin Condo Residents to Share
March 9, 2009
People seem to prefer the Yahoo group for communication. I am going to clean up this blog and incorporate any important info from the message threads there:Yahoo Groups. Join the Yahoo group to chat with neighbors there if you wish.
January 16, 2009 Management has declared the water pressure issue resolved. Some folks received this message from Kenny Peterson:
"We have been able to fix the water pressure problem and have discovered the source of the issue as well. In addition to this we were able to find a quick repair to this should the software issue happen again. (Isn`t technology grand?!) The best part of this is that it only required a 10 second shut off of the water. Please stay in touch with us and inform us of any reoccurrence of this type of issue - we will do our best to fix this as quickly as possible in the future. Thank you very much for your patience and we are very grateful to our wonderful residents at 360 Condominiums!"
January 14, 2009 The Board Election was held last night. Brian Queenin was elected to a three year term. Krystle Copulos was elected to a two year term. Michael Jones was elected to a one year term.
There is a lively discussion on Yahoo Groups. Join to chat with neighbors there.

As of 9/12/08 at 3:10 we still don't have DirecTV and while I got one hitch on the freight elevator, they don't seem to be working really.
Where was the leak? What floors?
This is the latest official communication:

RE: Incident Update
Yesterday afternoon, Thursday, September 11, a leak occurred on the 19th floor, affecting floors 17 through 19, some units on floors below 17 and all four of our elevators. Novare Management was notified immediately, and they in turn alerted our general contractor (JE Dunn) insurance adjusters and water-remediation teams.
Repairs to eliminate the leak are being made as this is written, and water remediation teams from ECS, a local provider for Fresh Air Group, have arrived. The remediation teams are working to extract the water and dry out all affected areas. Water remediation will take place over the next several days, throughout the rest of this week and into next. If you live in an affected unit, please help speed the drying process by keeping the remediation fans and dehumidifiers running as much as possible, as this will decrease the overall time they are needed in each unit.
One bit of good news that we can tell you is that two elevators are operational as of this afternoon, and we expect the others to come online soon.
Please note, as indicated yesterday in a resident update, that owners of affected units need to contact their homeowners-insurance representative immediately to report any damage to their condominium or personal property and to discuss their insurance options for hotel arrangements if needed. If you need to report evidence of moisture in your unit, please reply to this email, and we will contact the remediation group immediately. You can also call 512-904-5600 and speak with the concierge, who is available 24/7 to record your information.
We know that this has been an extremely trying period for our homeowners whose residences have been affected by the leak. We are also aware that this situation is having an effect on the daily routine of all of our residents. We ask for your forbearance and cooperation during this time. Be assured that we are monitoring the work underway and will continue to keep you updated on its progress."
On the 10th floor water was flowing through the ceiling of the telephone and data room and out in two directions on the carpet. It damaged the floor in the kitchen of the condo just south of that room.
Incidentally, the AMLI on Second had a huge leak of some sort on the west side of the building a couple of months ago.
Elevators were limping along last night and most of DirecTV was restored by a hard-working kid who dried out and replaced hubs. He said a couple of HD channels weren't working yet, but I'm not familiar enough yet with the offerings to notice.
I know there was water damage in 3402 due to the dishwasher not being installed correctly prior to the owner closing.
Do you know what was done wrong with the dishwasher? I am just moving in and wonder if there is something I should look for, before I use mine.
It's always best to use your washing machine and dishwasher when you are home. A common installation mistake on dishwashers is to fail to remove the plug when attaching the return water to the disposal unit or failing to secure it there.
OK, information on the leak of 9/11 and other issues we discussed in the 9/23 'one-on-ones' are recorded here.
Relevant to the leak explanation: a 'horizontal piece of sprinkler pipe failed.' They could not cut off the water until the AFD determined there was not a fire. We couldn't re-enter the building until the repair was made and the system pressure-tested. Now that doesn't really jibe with the other official communication, but there it is, residents were told this by the Novare president.
