Elevators

We supposedly have state-of-the-art elevators and one would think they'd have to be to service 430 units with four elevators, one sometimes reserved for freight. Now that construction is substantially finished, I find that normal waits for an elevator to arrive are under one minute. If elevators are reserved or out of service this is extended. The northeast elevator has problems with the fob swipers and the extra swiper (no keypad) they finally installed in the elevators don't seem to work consistently.

I'm cleaning up old comments here and readying it for more recent and relevant info. LB

Handicap buttons should be installed to enter/exit the building and common areas. Would be helpful for residents in wheelchairs and parents with strollers.

I live in Unit #2501, and I love the unit and view. However, the elevators do have issues. A few days ago, on Saturday morning, I was heading out to the Farmer's Market when I got stuck in the NE elevator. I my way down to the lobby the elevator stopped, when the door opened there was a woman standing there talking to someone in the hallway, rudely ignoring the elevator I was standing in.

As the door was shutting she hit the elevator button on the outside, and the door tried to open again as it was almost shut. The door ended up crached about 1cm, and the elevator was stuck. I could get the door to open or the elevator to move. I had to call on the phone and explain to the guy what building I was in and that there was no "start/stop" button accessible to me. He said he was sending someone out, when I asked "How long will that take? How long am I going to be stuck in the elevator?" he wouldn't give me a time frame and only said that he was paging the technician. I waited for about 10 minutes, then I tried to force the door open.

I gave it all my strength was was able to get the door maybe open about 1-2 inches before letting go. Finally that was enough, and the door was able to close all the way and went down. I'm sure the repair guy had nothing to do with it.

The North East elevator is by far the worst, I hate that elevator. I've had friends get stuck in them because it wouldn't take their code, and not they won't come back over. The elevators need some serious work.

I have recently had problems with the northeast elevator, too. The swiper/keypad behaves badly although sometimes if you wait a second after the green with fob to push the button it works and, when typing a code, push the '#' button first it does finally work. Also I had the problem of it not quite closing on the first floor (although it kept opening again) and this seemed to be caused by the door to loading dock being open and causing an air draft. When the concierge closed that door, it worked.

I visit the 360 often because my girlfriend lives there. She gives me the elevator code to get to her floor and a lot of times I have to either speed press the buttons and then the floor button or press the code in numerous time before it catches. Besides that, I often have to wait for a while for an elevator. You would think that brand new elevators wouldnt have these kinds of problems.
